Garbage In = Garbage Out

Today we're going to focus on a saying that you may have heard before "As A Man
Thinketh In Their Heart, So Are They Also.” There was also a book written many years ago called "As A Man Thinketh.” I can't stress enough the importance and impact these words can have in your life. This topic will literally change your way of thinking and when you understand and use it you’ll begin to have more of what you want in life.

What you think and speak about are good predictors of the results that will follow them. Your destiny is in your words and thoughts and today we're going to learn "how to" create your future the way you want it to be.

Each thought and word you create is accepted by your subconscious mind as a truth. It doesn't know the difference between reality and perceived reality. For example, have you ever had a dream so strong that you awoke and thought it really happened? Have you continued to experience the feelings you dreamed throughout the rest of that day? Your subconscious mind is your most powerful asset when you feed it the right information. By the same token, when you use it incorrectly it can manifest many obstacles that will prevent you from achieving your goals (garbage in – garbage out!).

Now, you are going to learn how to make your subconscious mind work for you rather than against you. Left on it's own it will probably work against you. It appears the majority of us come out of childhood with so many more negative beliefs than positive ones especially about ourselves and what we are capable of. Our parents ingrained in us “don’t do that”, “stop that”, “shut up and be quiet”, “get out of there” and the list goes on. If we believe this concept to be true, we easily associate ourselves to negative thoughts and conversations. Thoughts such as: "It's going to be hard”, “I can't”, “I'm not enough", “I'm afraid”, “I don't deserve it”, “It won't work” “I might fail" Etc. Etc. Remember, the theme of this technique is "As a man thinketh in their heart, so are they also." So, if you are thinking those negative thoughts you will as a result create negative outcomes in your life (cause/effect). Whether we like it or not, that's the way it is. Therefore, if you want a life with positive results you need to have thoughts and conversations which are also positive. This must happen on a continuous basis for it to really make a difference.

How does one begin to think positively? By affirming what you want through your optimistic thoughts, words, and actions. With negative thinking and speaking, you will automatically perpetuate more negativity. Cause/effect relationships are extremely important in that what you tell your mind will happen. Remember again, your life, your choices – no one else’s!

Using positive affirmations can cement what you want into your subconscious mind. Affirmations like: “today is going to be a good day”, "I am worthy of success”, “I am a happy person” and “I am good at…” are all good to start with. Famed motivational guru Zig Zigler said positive affirmations are like "telling the truth in advance." As you begin to say out loud positive empowering statements combined with taking effective actions toward what you are declaring, you will ultimately have more of what you want. Using these techniques will not only enhance your life, but will serve to enhance the lives of others as well. In other words, pay it forward and the world will be better because of you.
